[吹水閒聊] 聽歌學英文有冇效果?

This brings up the fundamental issue in the very first post "is listening to English songs would do any help"
and a further question on "what kind of helps"

it is certainly not "efficiency", not even "vocabs"...
but "getting used to" listening English material and common phrases.

After all, learning language is the training of conditional reflex, and better to train up all your five senses

Palin tweeted: NPR defends 1st Amendment Right, but will fire u if.......u exercise it. Juan Williams: u got taste of Left's hypocrisy, they screwed up firing you

可能是跟你講fifteen、fifty那位先生小姐的問題,是他發音不準?

直接睇歌詞比聽歌更快更有效率
1分鐘內 KO, 反正網上字典有發聲功能,
唔駛浪費幾分鐘聽晒一首歌

BTW, 寫作是最快最有效率的語言學習
it's the difference between audio and visual learning, perhaps?

Yes. My listening sucks, especially when I face Indian accents.

well...
when it comes to accent, you may call it a "feature" or a "bug"

also, the single-word pronunciation from electronic dictionary serve as only a basic reference. When used in sentence, drama, poem and songs, there would be difference. Worst still, such audio information is transient, you miss it now, missed forever. "Reflex" is crucial in listening.

That's why listening training is irreplaceable by other means.

Listening is simply short term memory game. That's why females have the edge.

(psychologists call this echoic memory - as opposed to iconic memory)

聽歌學英文係的確係一個好方法!但注要係唔好選太簡單或是太難的歌,如果一開始就選太難O既歌,挫折感會加深,一下子就容易放棄 ; 而選擇太簡單O既話,字彙難度可能對你來說又太低。第二,選自己中意的曲風、歌手及對你俱有意義的歌。
其實除左聽歌之外,仲有其他唔同O既方法。例如網上有好多學習平台,比你免費學英文,如Learn Hot English,入面O既資源對你學英文十分有幫助。
