A footnote

According to my knowledge in ACG, I know that when Japanese treat Chinese name, they prefer Mandarin rather than Cantonese. For example, in CLAMP's production:

小狼
Syaoran (NOT Siu Long)

You are so right - a Chinese airline changed the "English name " (in fact the generally used Hongkong romanisation of the Chinese name) to Chinese pinyin on the pax' boarding pass and he almost missed his flight
